The Michigan Urban Farming Initiative (MUFI) is a non-profit organization in Detroit’s North End community. MUFI’s 3-acre campus is home to a large urban farm, along with several large-scale projects that tackle blight deconstruction in imaginative ways.

One of MUFI’s recent projects is a rainwater harvesting cistern built in the foundation of a former blighted home. Find out how volunteers, corporate sponsors and experts in waterscape architecture and engineering came together to construct this unique community asset.
